Who should attend RYLA?
Participants may NOT have attended a previous RYLA event.
RYLA is a youth program that seeks to provide young adults with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and character, while exposing them to Rotary's values of service, high ethical standards, and peace. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who exhibit a relative maturity level are encourage to apply.
Students should show active participation in school activities. This can include clubs, sports, extracurricular activities, and committees. Participation in community service projects is also encouraged.
Students who will truly benefit from the RYLA experience and who will go on to become leaders in their schools, clubs, and communities are encouraged to apply. District 7570 highly recommends that Interact President-Elects attend RYLA. This practice has proven to be a driving force in strengthening Interact Clubs. Participation by Non-Interact members is also encouraged, especially in schools without Interact Clubs.
The key element - Does the student have the desire to become a leader in their school and community!
